ARTIST STATEMENT

I enjoy painting the scenes in my life that go from ordinary to extraordinary by the way shadows are created from different degrees of light.  Soft light filtering through a window shade or direct sunlight bouncing off rocks and leaves moves me to capture the moment in time through painting.

I love the luminous glow of watercolors for its layered transparency and fluidity, whereas oils speak to me though their depth of color and textures.

 

Whatever medium, I hope my paintings reflect a love of the everyday moments in life.
