ARTIST HISTORY

"We do not remember days, we remember moments" is a quote by Cesare Pavese, an Italian poet that I love. It reminds me to notice the tiny moments in time that make up the days of our life.

Sunlight hitting an everyday object can make it go from ordinary to extraordinary and that beauty surrounding me could go unnoticed until I capture the moment.
I started painting at a young age and was taught and inspired by my father who worked in watercolors. Growing up I thought I would go to school for fine arts but when I went to Massachusetts College of Art in Boston I decided to major in graphic design. I loved the challenge of taking on projects for a client and being creative within a time frame. Working in graphic design felt like I was taking someone's dream and making it a tangible reality. I loved that.
After doing design for years, I started to miss being creative without the constraints of the pressures and deadlines of working with a client.
One day I just started painting again and it felt great. It felt like coming home.
I don't know where my painting will take me but I do know I just love doing it again. I hope you enjoy exploring my site.
